-Maya Angelou

Being a dancer/teacher/choreographer was never what I imagined for myself as a child, although I think it was always my secret dream. I vividly remember days as a young kid when I would wait for moments to be left alone in the house, so I could turn on my vhs recording of Janet Jackson's Velvet Rope tour and dance around the living room. I was shy, and a little timid in front of others, but there was always something so freeing, exciting, inspiring, and fulfilling about those moments alone dancing when no one was around. I never really imagined that the love I had for dance,  would bring me to where I am today.

Making an impact in the lives of others has always been a desire of mine. I have a big heart for people, and find happiness in touching lives, whether by giving advice, or even just listening. So when I went to school at Cal State University Fullerton, it wasn't surprising that I decided to major in Psychology. Although I was set on finishing school, and planned to go on to getting a Masters, my passion for dance had become greater than ever. During my college years, I started taking more formal training at dance studios in Orange County and Los Angeles, and also started dancing with companies like Boogiezone Breed, Funkanometry LA, and Essence Dance Company. Once I graduated with my B.A., I decided to take a year off, and just see what would happen, and where life would take me. Im glad I made that choice.

Since making the decision to pursue dance full time, I have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing people. My teachers, peers, and students inspire and motivate me on a daily basis. Back when I lived in Los Angeles, I was faculty at Millennium Dance Complex, Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, and Edge Performing Arts Center.. I have traveled internationally teaching in over 30 countries. The knowledge I am able to share would be nothing without the knowledge I feel I have gained over the years from some of the best in the industry. I have trained with and been mentored by greats like Kevin Maher, Tessandra Chavez, Rhapsody James, Luam Keflezgy, Jaquel Knight, Teresa Espinosa, Jaffar Smith, and the list goes on. I've had the opportunity to work with phenomenal recording artists including Beyonce, Janelle Monae, Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Scherzinger, Sevyn and Danity Kane. I’ve assisted choreographers on hit television shows like "X-Factor" and "Dancing with the Stars". Ive also performed on "Dancing with the Stars" (choreographed by Aakomon Jones) and BET’s "Black Girls Rock" (choreographed by Luam Keflezgy). Most recently, I accomplished one of my biggest dreams, DANCING FOR JANET JACKSON!! I currently reside in New York City, where I am faculty at Broadway Dance Center, Peridance, and EXPG.  I am grateful for how far I have come, and looking forward to where I will go. I hope to continue to inspire others by doing what I love, and I give all the glory to God for blessing me with a gift, a passion, a dream, and the faith to see that dream become reality.
